When we set out to design and build our own soap factory on the South Side of Chicago, we knew it had to be something extraordinary. We created one of the greenest soap manufacturing facilities possible—setting new standards for how soap is made—while ensuring the space was welcoming and inspiring for the people who work there every day.

Our environmental design budget was modest, but by using bold color and witty, purposeful messaging, we created an atmosphere that both educates and energizes employees and visitors. The design included oversized graphics that explained manufacturing zones, as well as a custom 20-foot “lite-brite” installation crafted from method bottles for the reception area.

The result is a flagship of modern manufacturing and a living expression of method’s culture and values.
